Our partnership with the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center brings our Children’s clinicians together with Georgia Tech scientists and engineers to develop these solutions for the health and care of children. The center provides opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration in pediatrics, creating breakthrough discoveries that often can only be found at the intersection of multiple disciplines. These collaborations bring advancements to the clinic and bedside, enhancing the lives of children, teens, and young adults.

The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center falls under the greater umbrella of the Georgia Tech Pediatric Innovation Network.

Pillar 1 – Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence

The Data science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence pillar focuses on using AI for personalized and predictive care, standardizing data collection infrastructure, and implementing ethical AI practices for equitable clinical use. It centers on the Children’s-Georgia Tech Pediatric AI collaboration, integrating cutting-edge pediatric AI into clinical practice and training care providers in AI applications in medicine.

Pillar 2 – Patient-Centered Care Delivery

Patient-Centered Care Delivery pillar focuses on pediatric health, our patient-centered approach integrates care, targeting barriers like behavioral health, rural healthcare access, and chronic illnesses in underserved areas. We prioritize the “whole child,” addressing physical, psychological, social, and emotional needs, alongside those of families and caregivers.

Pillar 3 – Technology & Devices

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta depends on all types of technology to diagnose, treat and care for patients, and collaborating with Georgia Tech engineers is crucial to continue to improve technologies and devices in
order to provide the best care. The need for innovation is great, and the solution lies with the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Pediatric Technology Center at Georgia Tech (PTC). New technologies and devices will create integrated systems of care that guide patients through health services.
