A Story of Career Origin and Innovation with Our Own Leanne West

Origin stories have an intrinsic allure for many, like the inspiring origin and career stories of life science, medtech and healthcare innovators with roots in the southeast ecosystem including M.G. Finn, W. Hong Yeo, Shyam Parekh and Ib Badejo.

Recently, our own Chief Engineer of Pediatric Technology for Georgia Tech, Leanne West, shared her healthcare origin story and career pathway with the community at her secondary alma mater Harpeth Hall.

Perhaps her story will inspire others to find a career or calling in healthcare innovation.

“To see something you’ve built that is helpful to others, like those hard of hearing or deaf, is always exciting,” Leanne says. “The research world that Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta created with Georgia Tech hadn’t really been done before. As Chief Engineer of Pediatric Technology for Georgia Tech, I now facilitate others’ research, as well as my own, understanding doctors’ in-clinic needs for pediatric care or for wearable or home technologies that improve childrens’ lives.”

Our team is always inspired by Leanne’s dedication to innovation and the continuum of pediatric care. We hope you enjoy this quick video interview and feel free to share among your own networks and colleagues.
